Target will begin pre-orders of the PS4 and Xbox One this Sunday in store.

Target-logoTarget, the nationwide retailer will begin pre-orders of the Xbox One and PS4 in-stores this Sunday.  The nationwide retailer is one of the few remaining stores that has done no pre-orders up until this point, and according to a recent twitter conversation I had with them, it will begin this Sunday.  When asked when they will start doing in-store pre-orders, Target replied “Thanks for asking! It looks like reservation cards will be in the stores starting this Sunday 8/25. Quantities are very limited.

Note the last line of there sentence, “Quantities will be very limited”.  I would expect the company will only give stores the exact number of reservation cards it knows it will be able to fulfill on launch day.  I would honestly expect under six for each type of console.  They likely will also not hold any of these for people who call, so it’ll be first come first serve starting this Sunday, 8-25.  If you haven’t gotten one, this may be your last chance.

Update: Xbox One pre-orders are going off without a hitch, but there are issues with the PS4 cards.  Full story here.

Update 2: The issues have been resolved.  All store’s pre-orders should function perfectly.
