The secret Insomniac game is Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus!

Well, it looks like tomorrow is today!  Insomniac and PlayStation have revealed the title that was teased by the two companies is actually an all new Ratchet and Clank title called Into the Nexus!

The all new title is being touted as an epilogue to the two PS3 titles, Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time, the latest game will be a downloadable and in stores for $29.99.  It will obviously be smaller then say A Crack in Time, but is larger than Quest for Booty.  The game is under creative direction from  Brian Allgeier, who served in the same role on both PS3 Ratchet titles.

The game will have a focus on crazier weapons, like a snowman gun, and zero gravity sections.  You will also use the Zero-G environments to solve all new Clank puzzles.   Expect more information on the game in the coming months as the title will launch this Holiday on PS3 and possibly Vita in the future.

The reporter’s opinion:  I am very happy to see another Ratchet and Clank title, but it seems odd for it to be on PS3.  While I like the idea of not having to get a PS4 to play it, I really think it could have been a great low cost launch title for them.  I also expect this game to be the gateway drug into the next Ratchet and Clank trilogy on the PS4.
