The Guardians of the Galaxy join Disney Infinity 2.0 this Fall in their own playset!

The Guardians of the Galaxy are coming to Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Superheroes.  Announced today, Marvel’s band of rouges will be coming to the relaunch of Disney Infinity, and getting it’s own playset.  The story follows the Guardians, now in possession of the legendary Infinity Stones, being pursued by Ronan the Accuser.  This Play set is being developed by Studio Gobo, the team behind the Pirates of the Carribean playset from Disney Infinity’s initial launch.

All five members of the Guardians will be playable, with Gamora and Star Lord coming in the playset itself.  Drax the Destroyer, Rocket and Groot will all be sold separately.  Two other Marvel heroes will be playable in this playset: Iron Man (From The Avengers playset) and Nova (From the Spider-man playset).  Cosmo, The Collector and Yondu will all be around in the playset as well; they will give you new missions.

On top of all of that, all of the Guardians will be playable in the Toy Box mode.  Their will also be new settings, weapons, and armor themed around the Guardians that will be added to the Toy Box as well.  Disney Infinity executive executive producer John Vignocchi revealed that this isn’t going to be the end of characters announced for Disney Infinity either.  “That wraps up the first round of the Marvel super heroes that are being integrated into Disney Infinity 2.0, but there are more characters coming inside of Disney Infinity 2.0 from Marvel.”  More characters may well be announced this weekend at Comic Con.
