Mortal Kombat X posters leak, series creator Ed Boon confirms they are legitimate

Mortal Kombat 10Earlier today, reddit user itshappening24 posted the picture on your right to the Xbox One subreddit, which features a marketing poster for what appears to be an all new Mortal Kombat game.  This post was soon followed by Mortal Kombat series creator Ed Boon changing his twitter photo to the logo shown in the poster.  It was followed with a change of header to the poster’s tag line “Who’s next?”

Boon went on to tease that players will hear more in five days, on Monday June 2nd.  “I don’t suppose there’s anything I can do to make you think we still MIGHT be announcing Injustice 2 in #five days is there…..?” Boon teased.

Boon has been teasing an announcement coming for June 9th for quite some time now, with fans curious if the tease was for an all new Injustice title, or Mortal Kombat.  24 star Kiefer Sutherland spoke about his involvement in Mortal Kombat all the way back in February, saying “I did Mortal Kombat, and that’s such a huge game, but it’s so not like [MGS5].”

We will have all the news for you on Monday, if/when Netherrealm and Warner Brothers announce the next game in Mortal Kombat franchise.

This reporter’s opinion:  Ok, consider me officially hyped.  As a wrestling fan, I fucking love that tag line.  Goldberg DLC maybe???? Seeing Mortal Kombat coming to next-gen consoles is going to great, and I cannot wait to see where Boon and company take the franchise.  I loved their most recent outing, Injustice, so I expect nothing but greatness from this one.
