Hearthstone is getting a single-player adventure mode

Hearthstone curse of

Today at PAX East, Blizzard has announced the Hearthstone’s single-player adventure mode called Curse of Naxxramas: A Hearthstone Adventure.  Curse of Naxxramas will release over the course of five weeks, with one of it’s five chapter releasing each week.  The first wing, The Arachnid Quarter, will launch for free, but each of the remaining four wings will have to be purchased.  This purchase can be made with in-game gold or real money.

Curse of Naxxramas will include 30 new cards, an all new game board (exclusive to the gameplay), and bonus cards that will only be unlockable by completing the mode’s nine challenges.  No launch date has yet been announced for the adventure mode, or pricing for the four wings, but it will release simultaneously on PC, Mac and IPad.  If you haven’t tried Hearthstone yet, you really should.  It is an incredibly fun, and free, trading card game.  If you want to learn more, check out my column on it from this past weekend, and why it’s becoming my new addiction.
