Assassin’s Creed is heading to France in an upcoming game titled or codenamed Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier received screenshots today of what is reportedly the next Assassin’s Creed game to release on the Xbox One and PS4. Unity will be one of two Assassin’s Creed games released this year, alongside a PS3/Xbox 360 title codenamed Comet. No information is currently available as to which version the Wii U would receive (if any), or which game will release on the PC.
The screenshots clearly show Paris, with famous landmarks like Notre Dame fully visible. This is not the first time this game has surfaced, previously a Neogaf poster claimed to have learned information about the game during a plane ride with a Ubisoft employee. The main character’s name will reportedly be Arno, who will lead the French division of the Assassin’s. From there it’s anyones guess as to where the game heads.
What do you think of Ubisoft’s choice to release two Assassin’s Creed titles this year? Are you happy that the Unity devs can develop exclusively for the new console? Or do you feel that they are milking the franchise? Let me know in the comments!
