Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, otherwise known as Super Mario Bros 2 to Japaneses gamers, has released onto the Wii U virtual console. The game was called far to hard for North American audiences during it’s initial release, and only came to America seven years after release as a part of Super Mario All-Stars in 1993.
As you can see in the trailer above, the game looks eirily similar to the original Super Mario Bros, but features both a playable Luigi and Mario. On top of that, the levels are incredibly more challenging. Like this seems like the 80s equivalent of Super Meat Boy. I’ve never played the game before, but this seems far harder then any game I’ve ever played. If you are up for a challenge, head over to the Wii U Virtual Console to download it now.
