Batman: Arkham Knight is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC this October

Batman Arkham Game Informer

Game Informer and Warner Brothers revealed the newest Batman game this morning, titled Batman: Arkham Knight.  Rocksteady returns to the helm of a Batman title for it’s first game since the release of the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham City.  Rocksteady is touting this game as the end of it’s Arkham trilogy, with Game Informer saying Arkham Knight “may just end the Dark Knight’s journey”.

Batman Arkham Knight HarleyThe new game will see Batman squaring off against a returning Scarecrow, who has enlisted the helps of Two-Face, The Penguin and Harley Quinn to destroy Gotham.  To combat these new villains, Batman is finally going to bring his most iconic tool to the field, The Batmobile  Players will be able to drive the Batmobile on a map that is “larger then Arkham City”, and has wider roads in order to accommodate the Batmobile.  Rocksteady has promised that the Batmobile will integrate well with gliding and grappling.

If gamers pre-order the game now, they will receive Harley Quinn as a playable character in four exclusive challenge maps.  It’s safe to assume that this pre-order bonus will just be a code inside all first releases of the game.  They had a similar promotion with Deathstroke for Batman: Arkham Origins last year.  Batman Akrham Knight seems to be skipping previous-gen platforms, and coming only to the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.  No release date was given in the trailer, but Gamestop has the date set for 10-14-2014, and has images for the pre-order bonus with that date as well.  More on the game will surely come out as copies of this month’s Game Informer hit the shelves, so stay tuned!

What other Bat-villains do you see joining Arkham Knight?  Toyman?  Zsasz? a returning Joker?  Are you as excited to see what Rocksteady has been working on for three years as I am?   Let me know in the comments below!
