Xbox One sells over 3 million units in 2013

xbox oneThe new console war is in full swing, with both the PS4 and Xbox One launching this past November.  Each have been flying off the shelves at retailers, leading to good growth for the industry as a whole.  Microsoft announced today that their console has managed to sell over 3 million units over a total of 13 countries since it’s worldwide launch on November 22nd.

If you remember, the Xbox One actually sold 1 million of those units on the first day alone, just like it’s top competitor Sony did.  In the release, Yusef Mehdi wrote ” It’s been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox, and we were honored to see Xbox One become the fastest-selling console in the U.S. during our launch month in November.”

2014 looks to be a strong year for all three of the major consoles as well, with major banner carries like Halo, Uncharted, and Super Smash Bros all expected to release on their home consoles.  What does this all add up to?  Another great year for gamers.
