GOG.com announced an all new guarantee money back guarantee today, that will allow gamers to get a refund for a game purchase. GOG is offering refunds on any games that will not run on your hardware (after the GOG customer service team tries all potential fixes) within 30 days of purchase. If you simply buy a game by mistake, or change your mind, you can get a full refund as long as you haven’t downloaded the game.
GOG is the second major digital games retailer to offer a refund system, with EA’s Origins system offering it’s Great Game Guarantee. The Great Game Guarantee allows for gamers to receive a refund of the a game within the first 24 hours of purchase if they are unsatisfied with the product. Steam, the largest digital retailer, currently has no system like either of these in place. Both of it’s major competitors offering a refund system could just be the kick in the pants that Valve needs to finally put a system in place, as their current way is just a plain nightmare.
