Games for Gold will come to the Xbox One in early 2014

xbox oneGames for Gold has been added a great amount of value to Xbox Live Gold user’s subscriptions over the past six months.  Thankfully, Microsoft is continuing the program into the new console generation.

Major Nelson made the announcement today on twitter saying “Great news: Access to free games each month is coming for Xbox Live Gold members on #XboxOne – Details coming later in 2014″

The Games for Gold program was announced at E3 2013, with games like Dead Rising 2, Halo 3, A World for Kefflings, and Crackdown being given away thus far.  The program was seemingly created as a counter to the PlayStation Plus games programs.  Gamers who subscribe to PlayStation Plus they receive multiple games each months, as well as discounts, across the multiple PlayStation platforms.  PS4 will also have free games with the PlayStation Plus subscription, with Resogun and Contrast available tomorrow for Plus subscribers.
