Battlefield 4’s Open Beta begins on October 1st

BF4_Screen_01_smallBattlefield 4’s open beta will level the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC starting on October 1st.  EA released a press release on the Beta today.  Players will be able to learn the maps and gain unlocks that will carry over to the full games release on October 29th, which can then carry over to the next-gen versions release.  The Xbox One and PS4 versions were also given street dates of November 19th and November 12th respectively, each of which are three days before the consoles launches.

(Author’s note: I find it odd that the games are coming out before the consoles, but I suspect many retailers will not put them on the shelves until the consoles release).  The Beta that was exclusive to Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Battlefield 3’s premium upgrade is suppose to release before the open beta, but no date has currently been given.

EA’s other major titles that release before the next generation, Madden 25 and Fifa 14 will both release on the 12th and 19th as well.  Players will be able to carry over Ultimate Team unlocks for each game from the Xbox 360 and PS3 to Xbox One and PS4.  All of these big titles will also come with upgrade offers from various retailers in the US and in Europe.  Battlefield offers can be found here, Madden here, and FIFA 14 here.  These deals are highlighted by Battlefield 4’s $10 digital upgrade with each purchase of it’s PS3 or Xbox 360 version
