Battlefield 4 ups to customization ante with over 240,000 possible set ups for one single gun

BF4_Screen_01_smallCustomization is quickly becoming a major factor in nearly every major multiplayer game, and Battlefield looks to follow suit, and even go further.  The team at DICE posted on the Battlefield Blog today outlining the major additions they have made to the upcoming Battlefield title.  They are also bringing back many fan favorite weapons, added more “oomph” to the guns, and more all based on fan feedback.

First and foremost, their are triple the number of accessories available in BF4 than in BF3.  DICE has also increased the number of accessories that can be equipped onto weapons.  Each of the accessories will change different stats on the weapons, which will be shown on the stats that are shown on the right hand side of the screen.  As I said in the title, players can now equip over 240,000 different combinations onto one assault rifle.

You can also change the camo on your gun, with six separate options: Autumn, Desert, Naval, Snow, Urban and Woodland.  Each of those will  have 16 variations.  Players can also now “zero” their sniper scope.  Once you determine how far away the enemy is, you can calculate angle at which you’ll need to shoot.  This will be extremely important for players on large maps like Siege of Shanghi.  Players can also use canted iron sights and an optical scope, where they can use the iron sights for close range and scope for long range.

DICE also released a video of the customization options, which can be found here.  Battlefield 4 is launching on October 29th on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.  It will launch on Xbox One at launch on November 22nd, and the PS4 at it’s launch on November 15th.
