Rayman Legends releases today for Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, PC and PS Vita, and has been widely regarded as one of the best platformers of the year, but players have noted a major issue. NeoGaf users have reported that the PS Vita version of the title is missing 28 levels, specifically from the “Invasion” section of the game. This section mashed previous levels together in a hardcore speedrun type of mode, meant to greatly challenge players.
The Neogaf users show how the Vita version has 85 less “lums” than the Xbox 360 version (lums are what is collected on each stage). The users make it quite clear that the 85 missing lums would be found during the Invasion levels. We have contacted Ubisoft regarding the missing Vita content, and will update this story when we hear back.
This reporter’s opinion: This is quite an odd move by Ubisoft. I understand that their is a $10 difference between this version and the console/PC version, but that to me is not an excuse. Ubisoft has touted the game as the complete Rayman Legends experience since it was announced, even touting how the Vita version will have exclusive content. This doesn’t effect me personally, but I feel bad for those Vita owners who will be slighted by this.
Update: Ubisoft has announced it will patch in all missing levels to Vita players, according to the Ubiblog. Crisis averted. Still shifty that it wasn’t in their in the first place though.
